Privacy Policy
Last updated: 30 September 2026. This Privacy Policy applies to www.billcompareuk.co.uk, a trading style of Interactive Results Limited (ICO registration number ZA085098).
Calls to this website's number
This website exists so that you can call us about your gas and electricity. If you call the number shown, we will normally ask you for your name, address and postcode, your current supplier and tariff, what you pay, your meter type and readings, your contact details, and — only if you decide to go ahead with a switch — your bank details for a Direct Debit.
We use this information to check which tariffs are available at your address, to explain your options, and to arrange a switch if you choose to go ahead. Our lawful basis is that the processing is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract, together with our legitimate interests in operating our service.
Calls to and from us are recorded, for training, quality monitoring, to confirm what was agreed, and to meet our obligations to the suppliers we work with and to regulators.
If you decide to switch, we pass the details needed to complete it to the supplier you have chosen. We mainly work with Scottish Power, British Gas and EDF, and each handles your data under its own privacy policy.
About this Privacy Policy
Our Privacy Policy outlines the manner in which we use and share the information provided by you. The UK General Data Protection Regulation describes the procedures organisations must follow in collecting, managing, processing and safeguarding personal information. These rules apply regardless of whether data is stored electronically, on paper or on other materials. In adherence to legal requirements, personal information must be collected and used fairly, stored safely, and not disclosed unlawfully.
We take privacy seriously and commit to using your personal information strictly in compliance with the law. Your personal information will never be sold, shared or utilised in any way other than what is outlined here and/or explained at the time of data collection.

Where there is a complaint, or a reasonable belief of potential litigation concerning our relationship with you, we may retain your personal data for longer. In determining the appropriate retention period we consider the quantity, nature and sensitivity of the data, the risks of unauthorised use or disclosure, the purposes of processing, whether those purposes can be achieved by other means, and applicable legal requirements.
